The recommendation belongs to the collector
Compensation cannot buy source inclusion, a higher offer rank, stronger stated confidence, favorable economic treatment, or a collector-facing recommendation.
The Standard Time Labs Promise
Standard Time Labs is built around a collector-first promise: commercial relationships may support the business, but they must not change which evidence is shown, how it is ranked, how confident the system claims to be, or what action is recommended.
The promise
The recommendation belongs to the collector—not to whoever pays Standard Time Labs.
Three commitments
Commercial independence is not a branding claim. It is a set of operating constraints that must remain true as Standard Time Labs develops revenue relationships.
Compensation cannot buy source inclusion, a higher offer rank, stronger stated confidence, favorable economic treatment, or a collector-facing recommendation.
The system must remain free to recommend buying elsewhere, waiting, selling through another route, or doing nothing when that outcome better serves the collector.
Affiliate, referral, licensing, and partnership relationships may support the business, but they are identified separately from the logic used to compare evidence and recommend an action.
What compensation cannot buy
Automatic source inclusion
A higher offer rank
A stronger recommendation
Higher stated confidence
Favorable economic treatment
Suppression of better alternatives
Commercial metadata may be used for attribution, disclosure, and revenue accounting—but must remain separate from collector-facing ranking and recommendation logic.
The practical test
A collector-aligned system must remain willing to recommend the decision supported by the evidence and the collector's context—even when that decision does not benefit Standard Time Labs commercially.
Commercial disclosure
Commercial relationships may include several models. This page does not claim that any particular program, partnership, source access, or revenue stream currently exists.
The company may receive compensation when a collector follows a qualifying link and completes an eligible transaction.
A retailer, marketplace, dealer, or service provider may compensate the company for attributable introductions or transactions.
The company may license data from providers or, where rights permit, license selected data or analysis to customers or partners.
The company may enter direct technical, data, marketing, or business relationships with industry participants.
